What does an orthopedic second opinion actually give you?
Being told you need surgery is a lot to absorb in one appointment. A second opinion buys you the time and the information to decide properly — whether the recommendation is an operation, an injection series, or another round of therapy. Dr. Matarazzo reads your imaging himself. Your MRI and X-rays, what has already been tried, how you got here, and what you are actually trying to get back to: playing again, working again, or simply walking without thinking about it. He will tell you what the images show in plain English, and lay out every route open to you — operative and not. Sometimes that confirms the plan you arrived with. Sometimes it opens a less invasive one. Either way you leave knowing why.
